DONALD “TRUMPS” JESUS

So what is there about Donald Trump that makes sense?

He reflects the age of truth invention- what my wife calls truth decay; the hypermodern world. He declares he is a Christian referring to “that little cracker” in a way that only a six year old typically refers to the Eucharist. He rants at the Pope declaring he is a Christian but then declares he has never asked for forgiveness because he has never done anything that needs forgiving. This is in stark contrast to the unchangeable fact: Jesus taught us to ask the Father for forgiveness as we forgive those who sin against us. Trump, instead says, that he just “takes care of it.” That means he gives himself absolution and then summons his vast moral energies to overcome what he did not ask God to forgive but he knows needs to be changed.

He has called grown men names like we would expect to happen at kindergarten recess. He trashes Bill Clinton when the Trump has had three wives, numerous mistresses, and brags that he has had sex “with some of the world’s best women.” He hollers “wall” to get votes and is outraged when the Pope says he he is not building bridges. This is the world of advanced demagoguery, playing to the worst in people, the likes of which has not been around before in Presidential politics.

He uses Twitter to trash Cruz, Rubio, and Kasich. He never says anything of substance about any public policy issues. Never!

He operates without guilt in an amoral landscape. He tells Mexico they are to build and pay for the “wall” when in fact more Mexican Nationals have been going back to Mexico than are coming in the last few years.

But none of this matters at all. It is not about his lack of moral character. It is not about his lack of substance. It is not even about the “wall,” or the Muslims whom he demonizes. It is about votes. It is about power.

When a Mexican leader says, “f… no I am not going to pay for the wall,” Trump is “horrified” by such language which he has in fact perfected. He is not a social conservative-stands for almost everything, morally speaking evangelical Christians stand against, including making millions on gambling casinos, but now says that because he is running for president his mind is now changing on abortion, homosexual marriage, and on and on. He is for the basic tenets of Obamacare until he decides he is not. He makes up morality on the pragmatic fly just as he makes up spirituality.

All of this gets the support of Christians who suddenly left their faith at their church houses and now roar hostile approval at the bashing and the name calling. Does it have something to do with the fact he is a blue eyed, blonde anglo, supported by the white guys who are quickly losing power in this world? Does Trump stand as the last bastion in opposition to the “browning” of America? All the studies say so.

President Obama would have already been impeached by the House of Representatives if he had said even one tenth of this nonsense. But of course all of this double standard has nothing to do with fact that the President’s last name is multisyllabic, his color is brown, and his middle name is Hussein which of course means he is a Muslim and his birth certificate is bogus. Has anybody checked to see if Trump really has a “new birth” certificate?

I did not think so.

It’s an embarrassing moment for the Church in America.
